Eating Bake Mac and Burger at Panaderia Antonio Bakery and Restaurant

After our trip to the beach, Ellen and I decided to check out the newly opened Los Pedritos Restaurant at Metroplaza, Dagupan. To our dismay, there weren’t a lot of bread and pastry options when we visited. We really wanted to bring home some treats, so we decided to change our itinerary to Panaderia Antonio Bakery and Restaurant.

We didn’t plan to eat dinner at Panaderia Antonio but since my darling baby sister has such a newly-found appetite for burgers,  I decided to get her what she wants while I ordered their Baked Macaroni.

The order

The only reason I went for Baked Macaroni was that it’s my all-time favorite comfort food. As for my little sister, I know that she’s quite a picky eater, so I had to go for a safer food choice – burger.

There are plenty of food items you can order here including sizzling plate dishes and pasta. There are also quite a number of popular Filipino viands. Whether you’re more inclined to heavy meals like steak or super light sandwiches, you can find a wide variety of options at this resto.

If I remember correctly, I paid 470 pesos for both of our meals.

  • Regular (forgot the name) Burger———————————————————– 150.00
  • Baked Macaroni ———————————————————————————— 120.00
  • Iced Tea ————————————————————————————————– 90.00
  • Regular Milk Tea ————————————————————————————110.00

My order was just plain and simple baked macaroni. Unlike most baked macs I had in Dagupan, their version wasn’t super thick and creamy. I liked that.  However, as you try to finish the dish, there was a lot of sourness from the tomato and herbs which overpowered the cheese and white sauce. In addition, I barely noticed meat.

As for my super picky sister, she said she loved the burger because of the generous serving of fresh onions, lettuce, and tomatoes. The burger patty was also good because it was moist and well-seasoned.

For P470 (and for an average earner like me), I think the food is a bit too pricey. The food presentation is almost non-existent. As for the food, well it wasn’t that stellar either compared to similar dishes that you can find in other restos in Dagupan City.

Ambiance: ♥♥♥ / ♥♥♥♥♥

The place is very pretty and cozy. If you’d ask me a place where you can chill with friends, then I would strongly recommend the Panaderia Antonio Bakery and Restaurant. The lighting is just awesome. I love the interiors as well as the dining area outside. Plus, I also like the clock they have. I suggest you look at that small and unique wall clock when you visit.

Overall: ♥♥ / ♥♥♥♥♥

I guess it all boils down to two things:

1.) Will I recommend to a friend? Well, if you want to sip coffee and have long talks, then I would definitely point you to Panaderia Antonio. However, if you want to enjoy not-so-pricey food and yummy baked macaroni, then I’d probably provide you other options.

2.) Will I return? I’d unlikely return for their dishes, but I would happily come back for a cup of coffee and their brownies.
